Steve came to the station as an anchor and reporter in March 2021.
His broadcasting career commenced in radio in 2005. Over the years, he worked at heritage news/talk radio stations in Phoenix and San Antonio, Dallas. Steve’s stories have aired on ABC News Radio, CBS News Radio, CNN Radio, and Fox News Radio. He dived into television by accepting a job on the behind-the-scenes team at KPHO-TV before moving in front of the camera at KRGV-TV.
Over the years, Steve has worked in both radio and television and he has been lucky enough to be a part of some award-winning newsrooms. He has been able to win some awards of his own, including a Lone Star EMMY for my work along the U.S./Mexico border, and a Rocky Mountain EMMY for a series of stories about New Mexico called “Send Steve Where.”
Steve also performed on the national board of directors for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. He is also the ex-president of NAHJ’s New Mexico chapter and also served on the board of directors for Special Olympics New Mexico.
