Born and raised in New England, his passion for weather was sparked after being mesmerized by thunderstorms and snowstorms alike. Mike has dreamed of being a meteorologist since he was 6 years old. And currently, 22 years later, he lives out his dream every single day.
After graduating from college, Mike’s career commenced in August of 2016 at WVNS in Beckley, West Virginia. While there, he experienced three years of growth doing weather on the weekday morning show. Talk about a great first gig; Mike spent two and a half hours of newscasts every day strengthening his performance and honing his craft and this led to freelance opportunities in larger markets.
He also was fortunate enough to freelance in both Roanoke, Virginia, and Charleston, West Virginia. Mike left in August of 2019, with a career offer to bring me back home to New England.
His next stop was at NEWS CENTER Maine where he had the honor of forecasting for the entire state, representing WCSH in the Portland market and WLBZ in the Bangor market. Mike spent three years there, ending his tenure on Labor Day of 2022.
Mike’s hobbies have always involved being in tune with the forecast. He likes to hike, which is not as fun in the rain. Mike also dabbles in photography, and he is always using the forecast to figure out what days he can get that perfect landscape shot. The rest of his free time is also spent outdoors, whether it be catching fish from a kayak or exploring on his bike.
