She reported on the War in Iraq from the nation’s capital and reported live from Ground Zero after the terror attacks on 9/11, even traveling to Bosnia to cover their local troops fighting the war on terror. Kara also produced the first live reports of the horrific school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.
Kara is also the writer of Finding Dad: From Love Child to Daughter, an inspirational memoir where she shares the story of meeting her biological dad Bruce Sundlun when she was a teenager and he was the Governor of Rhode Island. Today she uses her own story to speak about the transformational result of forgiveness and healing her family.
Kara also is the recipient of an Emmy Award for anchoring Breaking News coverage of the Fotis Dulos case as well as true undercover reporting as she went “Swimming with Sharks,” to give an in-depth look at sharks swimming in New England waters.
