Farah Jadran Career

Jadran serves as the weekend morning anchor for KING 5 and she also reports three days a week for KING 5 Mornings. She arrived on the KING 5 team in August 2021, and she could not be more thrilled to be a member of this community. Farah’s husband and she visited Seattle and other parts of the PNW for the first time in 2015 and they fell in love with the region. Six years afterward, the “maybe” idea of moving to Seattle became a reality.

Farah enjoys sharing stories from society that will give more individuals a voice and assist others in the process. In the past, some of her most meaningful reports included those on a young guy with Down syndrome going to college and living on campus on his own and a mom who is raising awareness after her daughter passed by suicide. She is also proud to say she helped launch all Spanish digital newscasts at my previous station.

Farah commenced her journalism profession as a magazine writer and editor in 2006, but her first “interview” was conducted with the biggest marker she could find in her house when she was about six years old.  She was born and raised outside of Chicago and grew up consuming news from radio, TV broadcasts, and newspapers.

Before relocating to Seattle, Farah served as a journalist in Syracuse, New York, where she completed her master’s degree in magazine, newspaper, and online journalism. In 2011, she assisted the launch of Syracuse Woman Magazine — the area’s first and only award-winning women’s publication where she served as managing editor of SWM for more than four years before accepting an opportunity in digital and broadcast journalism for a national cable news company. In 2015, Farah switched gears to be a full-time on-air TV journalist, which was always her girlhood dream.

She also spent her final two years in Syracuse, serving as the weekday anchor for CBS 5 This Morning and CBS 5 News at Noon at WTVH. During that time, Farah continued reporting and hosting several on-air fundraisers for charities in Central New York.

Next to the news, being an athlete has always been a big part of her life. Farah was a gymnast and dancer for countless years and then commenced focusing on long-distance running. She is a giant sports fan. Although she has an allegiance to certain Chicago sports teams, you will find her cheering for Seattle teams.

She loves that Seattle is a sports city and she is happy to say she already knows some familiar Seattle sports figures quite well – Breanna Stewart and Mike Hopkins – because of her Syracuse ties. If Farah is not running or watching sports – she exercises her mind by playing Fantasy Football.
