Bair currently anchors for WGN Midday News. In addition, she serves as the medical reporter for the “Medical Watch” segments on WGN lunchtime News, WGN Evening News, and WGN News at Nine. Dina came to WGN-TV as a full-time general assignment reporter in September 1994. She served as the anchor of the WGN Weekend Morning News from December 1994 to December 1999.
In 2013, Dina toured Italy to report on the election of the new Pope. She covered live from Vatican City. Dina joined WGN-TV from CLTV in Oak Brook where she worked as an anchor and reporter. Before that at CLTV, she worked as an anchor, reporter, and producer at WHOI-TV in Peoria. Dina also worked as a field producer at WMAQ-TV in Chicago.
Dina is the beneficiary of many awards including nine Emmy awards, multiple Associated Press awards for both anchoring and reporting and a Peter Lisagor award from the Society of Professional Journalists. She was titled a Fellow by the National Press Foundation for the “Cancer Issues” seminar in Washington D.C. In perhaps the most beneficial story of her profession, Dina consumed a month anchoring inside the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Her documentary and news series, “Intensive Caring,” accurate the cutting edge medical treatments and life and death decisions earned awards for its news and documentary coverage.
She is an establishing Board representative of the breast cancer charity One in a Million: Dancing With Chicago Celebrities. Dina guides a media running team committed to raising funds for charity. She is also engaged with The National Italian American Foundation, LUNGevity, Respiratory Health Association, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the American Cancer Society, and is an Advisory Board Representative for Saleh Freedom, a movement to help victims of sex trafficking.
