Before her role on the evening news, Lourdes anchored for the WGN Morning News and was a reporter for WGN News at Nine. She joined WGN-TV in September of 2007 serving as a general assignment reporter for the WGN Midday News, WGN Evening News, and WGN News at Nine.
Before coming to WGN-TV, Lourdes worked for 3 years as a fill-in anchor and a reporter for WJBK-TV, the Fox affiliate in Detroit, Michigan. She also spent 2 years as a reporter for WXIN-TV in Indianapolis. While there, she began and hosted the station’s public affairs program, “Hoy en Dia,” and reported daily news cut-ins in Spanish for radio station WEDJ-FM. Lourdes also served as a reporter in Peoria at WHOI-TV and at Metro Networks in Miami, Florida for radio stations WTMI-FM and WLRN-FM. She began her journalism career in Chicago, working as a freelance reporter for Telemundo.

Lourdes and a WGN photographer were aboard the plane that transported illegal immigrants to their home country. She also hosts “Adelante Chicago” on WGN.
