Albritton works as a Morning News Anchor for WLWT News 5 Cincinnati, Ohio. He came to the WLWT News 5 team in September of 2019. Steven joined Cincinnati after spending nearly 3 years as an evening anchor at sister station KMBC 9 News in Kansas City.
Before that, he worked for 4 1/2 years as an Anchor/Reporter at KATC in Lafayette, Louisiana. While there, he was recognized with multiple awards from the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters and the Louisiana Associated Press including “Reporter of the Year” and “Story of the Year” honors. Steven also holds two professional Emmy nominations: one from special coverage of the Ball State Football program and another while at KMBC for his extensive coverage of the opioid epidemic.
In his time in Louisiana, Steven reported on major stories for KATC including Hurricane Issac, Oklahoma, the Carnival Triumph stranded at Sea, the F-5 tornado in Moore, and anchored wall-to-wall coverage of the historic flooding in southwest Louisiana in August of 2016.
While in Missouri, Steven spent an entire week in Norfolk, Virginia at Naval Station Norfolk, ending the week by flying out to the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier (CVN75) to do a series of stories.
He also reported on numerous breaking events in Kansas City like the beginning of possible major violations by the KU basketball program, the EF-4 tornado near the University of Kansas campus in 2019, and reported on the NCAA tournament when 16-seed UMBC knocked off 1-seed Virginia while following the Kansas State Wildcats on their tournament run. Steven also hosted the KMBC 9 Storytellers podcast.
