She was raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and always considered herself a “beach girl” and the coastal atmosphere led her to her passion … weather. Growing up, Allison watched storm after storm roll in from the Gulf of Mexico, some bigger than others. The first hurricane she recalls sitting through is Hurricane Georges. In 2005, Katrina struck her hometown of Long Beach, Mississippi. Watching the coverage before, during, and after Katrina sparked something in her and she knew she wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist and help individuals the way they helped her community in 2005.

After graduating from Mississippi State University, Allison packed her bags and made her way to the mountains of eastern Kentucky to serve as a meteorologist and reporter for the CBS affiliate, WYMT, for two and a half years. During her time in eastern Kentucky, Allison visited Cincinnati and quickly fell in love with the city.
