Robert has been working in Meteorology since 2005 when he was first employed at NS Mayport with the Navy in Jacksonville Florida. His profession has taken him all over the world performing a range of meteorological employment. This includes forecasting locally in seventeen countries and three different oceans. He even consumed 5 years on tv in Tokyo Japan with NHK the largest broadcaster in East Asia. Robert also has chased typhoons for The Weather Channel, covered tornadoes, reported in blizzards, and even filmed under several actively erupting volcanoes. During this time, Robert also freelanced for different stations during severe weather events across East Asia including CNN, The Weather Channel, and the Science Channel.
Robert returned to the United States in 2017 and accepted a job on the WHEC weather team in Rochester, New York where he won an Emmy for Best Evening Newscast where he reported live from the flash flood devastated town of Lodi in Upstate New York. Prior to Broadcasting, Robert was been honored with several Naval Achievement Medals Meteorologist with the US Navy. Most notable was his support during Operation Tomadachi where he not only provided weather support but also forecasted radiation fallout and tracked winds from Fukushima Daichi. Making him one of the few American Meteorologists to this day who have plotted radiation fallout in a real-world situation.
In 2019, Robert returned to Jacksonville to serve as an Aviation forecaster for the US Navy, which he still does as well as working at First Coast News. Robert also confers for international shipping and agricultural firms, primarily in East Asia, thus posts on his social media will range from local to conditions all over the world.
