During her last several years in Mississippi, she worked as a Reporter/Anchor for 16 WAPT. In addition to her duties at WAPT, Jewell served as the Director of Development and Admissions at The Redeemer’s School, which delivered high-quality education to elementary school children living in Jackson. She began her journalism profession at WTVO in Rockford, IL, as a consumer reporter and general assignment.
During an internship at a regional station, she learned what it would take to succeed as a broadcast journalist from WGN’s Ben Bradley, whom she carries on to learn from today. Jewell is community-oriented, and values giving back, having operated on several boards and being actively concerned in her faith community.
