In elementary school, his music instructor cast him as a news anchor in the school play because she thought he resembled NBC’s Bryant Gumbel and the rest is history. Anthony is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Social Science.
For nearly six years, he served as an anchor and reporter at the CBS affiliate in his hometown of Tyler. While he was there, he operated his way up from weekend anchor to the anchor of the 5 p.m. news. Anthony headed to the sunshine state following spending two years as the primary anchor at Time Warner Cable News in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The most memorable assignment Anthony did was his visit to Iraq. For a week, he expended time with soldiers from Fort Hood, Texas as they readied to come home. He told their stories, sharing what they were doing for the United States with audiences in Texas. Anthony was in that area as they returned home to their loved ones.
