An 11-time Emmy winner, he is a representative of the NAACP, the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, and the National Association of Black Journalists. He is also part of the Broadcasters Hall of Fame. In 2014 Wayne was inducted into the NATAS Silver Circle and also acquired the Chuck Heaton Award for the Cleveland Press Club. He was also privileged to receive the William Taylor Alumni Award from the Mass Communications and Journalism School of Kent State University.
Wayne was also 2 times titled one of the Jaycees’ “Outstanding Young Men of America.” Beyond that, the Professional Women’s Business Association honored Wayne as “Outstanding TV News Reporter” and Delta Sigma Theta nominated him “Man of the Year.” Wayne also operates as an ordained minister.
