Tori came to WHIO-TV from Lubbock, Texas, where she served as producer, weekend anchor, and reporter for the local Fox affiliate, Fox34.
Tori kind of fell into television news on accident. She enrolled at Texas Tech University, where she served as an editor and reporter for the nationally-recognized Daily Toreador student newspaper. During her tenure, Tori earned three Gold Circle Awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. She wasn’t sure what direction she wanted to take her profession in. On a whim during her senior year, Tori applied to be an intern at Fox34 and thus started her career in broadcast journalism.
Having absolutely no on-camera experience, imagine her surprise when they thought she was talented enough to be put on TV. Tori was immediately employed there as a broadcaster upon graduation and even earned the first available “Employee of the Quarter” award. Originally employed as a reporter, within two months, she was quickly promoted to weekend anchor, where she served at the position for over two years before coming to Dayton.
Tori likes to begin her day every morning with an iced coffee from Dunkin’. She has never lived outside of Texas and has been very much enjoying what the Miami Valley has to offer as she explores her new state and much of the Midwest with her husband and our sweet dog.
