Tasmin co-anchors DC News Now’s evening news, with Chris Flanagan, Sports Director Derek Forrest, and Chief Meteorologist Janessa Web on weeknights. She also leads a weekly public affairs program, Capitol Review, connecting congressional representatives in DC, Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia to their constituents. The program also brings to light global and local situations from fighting human trafficking in the DMV, hearing from individuals on the ground in Ukraine, and getting insight from a former U.S. major general on his personal experience with the war in Afghanistan and the rise of the Taliban.
Tasmin commenced her profession at Ebru TV, an international network, where she reported from the greater New York City region. Her assignments included reporting on the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut and breaking news updates from the United Nations. She relocated to Utah, joined ABC4Utah, and founded the station’s first news bureau in southern Utah prior to joining DC News Now in Hagerstown.
Tasmin attended Emory University in Atlanta with degrees in International Relations and Linguistics. In 2015, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation honored Tasmin with the Gracies Award for Outstanding Producer in TV News.
