Kelsey graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Soon after graduation, she commenced her profession at WAFB in Baton Rouge where she served as a multi-media journalist and morning show reporter. After three years there, she went back to her hometown of New Orleans– taking a job as a morning news reporter and fill-in weekend anchor. Kelsey also worked for the next three years in Birmingham, Alabama. During her three years in the Magic City, she served as the Traffic Anchor for Good Day Alabama and the noon newscast anchor.
In her journalistic job, she has covered everything from hurricanes to LSU and Saints football and local/statewide elections. While Kelsey drove around a lot growing up, she was born in New Orleans and got her educational foundation at Ursuline Academy. Kelsey has deep family roots in the Crescent City. She loves all things fun, food, and Southern hospitality. Kelsey is also a founding member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, a member of the Baton Rouge Area Association of Black Journalists, Incorporated, and a member of the Krewe of Muses.
In her spare time, she enjoys working out (so she can eat), watching documentaries on all kinds of subjects and people, attending festivals/concerts/Broadway shows (then singing the songs incessantly in the car, around the newsroom, the house, etc.) traveling, shopping and expending time with her family and friends.
