He left to establish the New York Center for Juvenile Justice, promoting a comprehensive justice model for minors. He also established the Families Rising Project, an alternative-to-incarceration program for young offenders and their families.

Judge Corriero served on various committees related to juvenile justice in New York State, including Mayor Bloomberg’s Committee on the Judiciary and the Permanent Commission on Justice for Children. He also chaired committees for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the American Bar Association’s Juvenile Justice Committee. He is a trustee of Big Brothers Big Sisters and a member of various committees for children’s services.
