Before joining HOT BENCH, Judge Corriero was a prosecutor in the office of Manhattan District Attorney Frank Hoganas a criminal defense attorney. He also served as a judge for 28 years in the criminal courts of New York State. For 16 years, he presided over Manhattan’s Youth Part, a special court designed to focus attention and scarce resources on young offenders prosecuted as adults under New York State’s Juvenile Offender Law. He left to establish the New York Center for Juvenile Justice, promoting a comprehensive justice model for minors. He also established the Families Rising Project, an alternative-to-incarceration program for young offenders and their families.

Judge Corriero served on various committees related to juvenile justice in New York State, including Mayor Bloomberg’s Committee on the Judiciary and the Permanent Commission on Justice for Children. He also chaired committees for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the American Bar Association’s Juvenile Justice Committee. He is a trustee of Big Brothers Big Sisters and a member of various committees for children’s services.
