In 2016, Heidi was honored with six awards from the CT Society of Professional Journalists for her reporting on a range of problems, including an investigation into the state, a series profiling fallen law enforcement officers, and federal funding of Connecticut’s highway service patrol fleet.

She was inducted into the Gertrude O. Lewis Humanitarian Society in 2016, the highest honor bestowed by the Connecticut Humane Society, and was named one of Connecticut Magazine’s “40 Under 40”.

Regarding her marital status, Heidi is happily married to David, a restaurant owner. The two are proud parents of identical twin girls Apolonia “Polly” Rose and Violet Concetta, born on Mother’s Day 2018.
