Curtis discovered The Climate Channel when he was 8 years old and drove his parents crazy because he watched it ALL the time. Friends and family nicknamed him “Weatherman.”

At the end of his sophomore year at Rutgers, Curtis took an opportunity at a weather internship for ABC’s Good Morning America and got it. He assisted in preparing the forecast for then-weatherman Tony Perkins. He also briefed the anchors of World News This Morning and World News Now which included chatting with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.

The behind-the-scenes meteorologist whom Curtis served directly, earned his degree in meteorology from Lyndon State College in Vermont. In addition, Curtis decided to follow his mentor and applied to the same college to which he was accepted and transferred that fall.

Curtis’ first journalism career began in October 2003 at the NBC station in Helena, Montana. Having never visited Big Sky Country earlier, Grevenitz was up for the adventure. He always had been into a lot of recreational activities and was an outdoor enthusiast. Moreover.  Montana was the perfect place for hiking, fly fishing, skiing, and observing the weather! The weather in Montana is very extreme.
