Warrior Nun is based on the Warrior Nun Areala comic series that first was launched in 1994 and was created by Ben Dunn. The story focuses on Ava Silva, a lady that starts the series dead, though is resurrected by the use of a magical and holy artifact that is embedded into her back. With this Halo of the Angel Adriel currently bonded to her, which grants her supernatural abilities, she becomes a member of the Order of the Cruciform Sword, an ancient sect of devout ladies sworn to battle demons. With the reveal about Adriel that we saw in the series’ 1st season, viewers are delighted to see how Ava will tackle her role as a leader as she continues to hone her skills and powers.
The series is created by Simon Barry and was released on Netflix on July 2, 2020. Joining Baptista on the cast in starring roles in the series are Lorena Andrea, Toya Turner, Thekla Reuten, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Tristán Ulloa, and Olivia Delcán. It was also declared that Jack Mullarkey, Meena Rayann, and Richard Clothier would be joining Season 2 of Warrior Nun in recurring roles.
Season 2 of Warrior Nun was filmed in various locations in Madrid, Spain.

Alba Baptista (Ava Silva)
Baptista is the actress who portrays Ava Silva in Warrior Nun on Netflix. Ava is a 19-year-old who wakes up in a morgue and finds out that she is a member of an ancient order who fight demons. Ava is Alba’s first English-speaking role.
Toya Turner (Sister Mary/Shotgun Mary)
Turner is an actress who portrays Sister Mary, also known as Shotgun Mary in the Warrior Nun, who is of the ilk, “Who brings a knife to a gunfight?” An expert with shotguns and other artillery, Shotgun Mary is loyal to the sisterhood but not so much to the church.
William Miller (Adriel)
Miller is a British actor who portrays Adriel in Warrior Nun on Netflix. According to legend, Adriel was an angel who came down to earth to heal a lady named Areala by taking his own halo and placing it into her chest to heal her. By doing so, she obtained supernatural abilities while he relinquished his immortality as well as his own holy powers. It was thought Adriel died thousands of years ago, but in the season 1 finale, we learned he was alive and a demon thief in disguise.
He is recognized for his roles in The 100 and Above Suspicion.
Tristan Ulloa (Father Vincent)
Ulloa is a French-Spanish actor, writer, and director who was born on the 6th of May 1970. He is 52 years old as of 2022. Tristan portrays Father Vincent in Warrior Nun on Netflix.
In the Netflix fantasy series Warrior Nun, Father Vincent guides The Order of the Cruciform Sword but there’s more to him than meets the eye. A voice of calm and reason, this man of God seems holy and pure at first but we soon find out he has had a violent and sordid history as well as several complicated and dubious relationships. It’s these 2 conflicting lives he has led that make him an ideal leader for the Order, though the nuns kind of guide themselves.
Thekla Reuten (Jillian Salvius)
Thekla Reuten born Thekla Simona Gelsomina Reuten is a Dutch actress born 16 September 1975. She is 47 years old as of 2022. Thekla portrays Jillian Salvius in Warrior Nun on Netflix.
In the Netflix fantasy series Warrior Nun, Salvius is the CEO of a tech start-up titled ArcTech. Her son is terminally ill and she has been attempting to create a cure for him. Jillian makes a scientific discovery that will put religion into question.
Lorena Andrea (Sister Lillith)
Lorena Andrea Aka Lorena Andrea Mateo is a British actress who was born in London, United Kingdom on the 12th of April 1994. She is 28 years old as of 2022. Lorena is recognized for her position as Sister Lilith in the Netflix fantasy series Warrior Nun.
In the Netflix fantasy series Warrior Nun, Lillith is not a fan of Ava’s. She hails from a family who has a generations-long relationship with the OCS with various ancestors who have bore the halo. She resents Ava as she thought she was a shoo-in to be the next halo bearer.
Kristina Tonteri-Young (Sister Beatrice)
Kristina Tonteri-Young is a Finnish-New Zealand actress and former ballerina who was born in Finland on born 17 January 1998. She is 24 years old as of 2022. Kristina is known for her position as Sister Beatrice in the Netflix fantasy series Warrior Nun.
In the Netflix fantasy series Warrior Nun, Sister Beatrice is in the Order and can hold her own in a fight, but her biggest assets are her intelligence and strategic skill set.
Emilio Sakraya (J.C.)
