Vida Tequila is a premium, award-winning spirit crafted in Arandas, Mexico, using 100% highland-grown Tequiliana Weber Blue Agave. It was co-founded in 2003 and officially launched in 2007, making it the first tequila brand to emerge from Utah. The brand owner is Lisa Barlow, alongside her husband, John.

The Craft Process of Vida Tequila
The craft process involves harvesting, cooking and crushing, fermentation, distillation, aging, and bottling.
Harvesting
The Blue Agave is normally harvested with the help of a sharp tool known as a coa. The jimadores select a completely matured agave plant and then they cut the sharp, pointy leaves using the coa before exposing an oversized pineapple called a pina, which may weigh over 100 pounds. The harvested agave is loaded onto tractors and transported to trucks, and then taken to the distillery.
Cooking and Crushing
As soon as the piñas get to the distillery, they are cut by strong men using chests of axes and further cooked in ovens. The fermentation process takes place after cooking and cooling down of the piñas, which are crushed to release the sweet juice after a period of about one day, and then undergoes distillation and filtration to eliminate any impurities.
Fermentation
The agave juice is put in stainless steel containers during fermentation, and the natural sugars of the agave are converted into alcohol. The development of a special leavening stock, which is created in the laboratory, is extremely critical in obtaining the specifications of the products. It is usually a two to three-day process on tequila 100 per cent agave. The resulting fermented juice contains approximately 6 to 7 percent alcohol.
Distillation
After fermentation is complete, the mosto (agave juice) is injected into stainless steel to undergo its first distillation. It is then followed by a second round of distillation in copper stills for all three tequila varieties. The Blanco is double-distilled and bottled right away, while VIDA Reposado and Añejo are aged after their second copper distillation.
Aging
Slow transformation allows the product to obtain its ultimate characteristics through natural processes while resting in its American oak or French oak barrels.

Bottling
After the tasting panel has sampled and approved the tequila, they are transferred to the bottling level, where it is meticulously poured into handcrafted bottles made by the Mexican craftsmen. Bottling entails a number of processes, which include: washing of the bottles using the same tequila in order to maintain its qualities, filling, corking, coding, labeling, boxing, wrapping, and enveloping. In every process, there are at least three quality control inspectors who look into each process to ensure maximum standards have been achieved in the final presentation of the tequila
