Before that, Merianos served as a meteorologist at Bay News 9 in Tampa, Florida (June 2019 to June 2022), and was an on-Camera Meteorologist at WeatherNation, where he provided national forecasts and covered major hurricanes including Matthew, Harvey, Florence, Maria, Irma, and Michael. His career began at WBNG TV12 (July 2014 to May 2016), where he served as a broadcast meteorologist and MMJ. Beyond the newsroom, Merianos has served as a trained firefighter and EMT in the Northeast. He is also a licensed pilot for single-engine aircraft, giving him a unique perspective on weather from the air.
