Hussain was born and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire. Her father, originally from Beanibazar in the Sylhet District, worked as a chef and ran an Indian restaurant. Hussain’s career as a reality TV star began when she first featured in the sixth series of the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off in 2015. During her time on The Great British Bake Off, Hussain was “a full-time mum” living in Leeds with her husband, an IT specialist, and three children. She was also pursuing an Open University degree in Childhood and Youth Studies.
