Varner operated as the News Director for ESPN’s “SportsCenter” in the network’s first 10 years, where he assisted the launch of its legendary slate of studio programming such as “NFL GameDay”, “NFL Primetime” and “Scholastic Sports America.”
Kirk also served as the creator of innovative television news operations. As VP for Local News with Time Warner Cable, he monitored the creation and development of ten different 24-hour local news channels across Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and New York state. Kirk is a prolonged member of RTDNA, the Radio Television Digital News Association.
