He looks forward to learning more about Genesee County and the environment region while growing as a storyteller and reporter. Davis is fairly new to the field, but he’s no beginner.
Prior to joining WJRT-ABC12, Kent worked at WBKB11 News as an anchor and reporter in Alpena, Michigan. While there he cut his teeth on tense board of education meetings, dramatic local politics, and heartwarming human interest stories. He was recognized for his job by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
With approximately a decade’s worth of anchoring experience, Kent has a knack for the keyboard. and camera. He was a student in Bloomfield Hills. Davis and his friend co-hosted “Subject to Change” every Friday afternoon on WBFH, their high school’s award-winning station. He also acquired several John Drury High School radio awards for his promos and public service announcements.
While at college, Kent volunteered as a writer for the Albion Pleiad newspaper. He interned with the Local Voice at Orion Neighborhood Television, which he accompanied with an internship at CMNTV in Oakland County.
Off-camera, Kent loves playing video games, riding his bike, and relaxing with his cat Emilia, who is objectively the World’s Best Cat. He’s also a supporter of the “Transformers” franchise, with a variety of various figures in his collection.
