He came to CBS 58 in 2015 serving as a freelance meteorologist and was quickly promoted to weekends a few months later. Justin has been on the CBS 58 Morning News since 2019. Every day he looks ahead to helping southeast Wisconsin get prepared for their day when they wake up. Since arriving in Wisconsin he has reported and foretold on tornado outbreaks, extreme temperature swings, record flooding, and late spring snow storms.
Justin has spent all of his grown-up life in the Midwest, but he was raised in New York. Living in the Northeast he had an opportunity to experience it all: big winter nor’easters, thunderstorms, and the occasional threat of a tropical storm. Unlike some weather anchors, Justin was not a weather nerd his entire life. Acting, sports, and singing took up most of his boyhood and it wasn’t until late in high school that he chose to combine his passions and pursue a profession in weather.
After moving to the Midwest, Justin obtained his BS in Meteorology from Valparaiso University in northern Indiana. While at College, he took an interest in storm tracking and logged over 18,000 miles tracking throughout the Plains states. After graduation, Justin relocated to Minnesota where he worked for KAAL-TV in Rochester, MN. In 2017 Justin was honored with the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) from the American Meteorological Society.
Just before arriving in Wisconsin Justin married his storm-chasing partner Stephanie and the duo are proud parents of three children. When not forecasting “cooler by the lake” or taking advantage of Milwaukee, Justin loves chilling and playing with his children including his Wisconsin Humane Society adopted dachshund Peeta. You can frequently catch Justin and his family at many of the multiple festivals dotting southeast Wisconsin, out at the park, or taking in a Brewers game.
