She arrived at WLWT in November 2018 as a reporter and joined WLWT’s investigative team in early 2021.

Before moving to Cincinnati, Jatara worked for three years as a Multimedia Journalist at WSAZ-TV in Charleston, West Virginia, where she edited and shot her own stories and filled in on the anchor desk. She also covered dozens of investigative stories, including revealing major problems with West Virginia Child Protective Services and a drug pipeline from Akron, Ohio to West Virginia. She was her station’s lead reporter for a historic statewide educator strike and a months-long state Supreme Court scandal, resulting in impeachments and two justices being found culpable of federal charges.

Jatara has also reported on a few presidential visits, spent weeks in hard-hit societies following historic flooding, and told many stories about West Virginia’s heroin and opioid crisis. She is interested in giving a voice to the voiceless and raising awareness about issues affecting the community.

In her spare,  Jatara enjoys exploring the city, spending time with her hubby, family, and close friends, and watching sports. Previously, she spent 17 years as a competitive cheerleader, earned a college national championship, and has a silver medal from the Cheerleading World Championships.
