In addition to his on-air role, he filled in numerous times on ABC’s Good Morning America in New York.

Notably, Nicholas was the first Cleveland meteorologist to earn the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the AMS. He also holds both the AMS Seal of Approval and the National Weather Association (NWA) Seal of Approval.
Beyond the newsroom, Nicholas serves on the NWA seal committee and is a member of both professional organizations. He also volunteers with local charities like the Northeast Ohio Autism Group, Cleveland APL, and Youth Opportunities Unlimited. Off-screen, Nicholas enjoys playing golf, going for a run in the Metroparks, cheering on the Cavaliers, Guardians, or Browns, and hiking in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
