Jackie arrived in D.C. from WHDH-TV (IND) in Boston, MA where she operated as the weekend morning meteorologist. She has knowledge of forecasting nor’easters and bitterly cold wind chills in the winter to harsh weather and tropical storms in the summer.
Aside from her day-to-day weather duties, Jackie would travel to local schools to promote fun methods to learn about climate with a strong emphasis on being prepared when severe weather strikes. When schools turned virtual during the pandemic, Jackie commenced a daily weather lesson/experiment sequence that enabled families struggling to find ways to teach science outside of the classroom–an initiative she consistently hears positive feedback to this day.
Before WHDH, Jackie served as the weekend morning meteorologist at WBTS-TV (NBC) and NECN in Boston. She commenced her career at WBND-TV (ABC) in South Bend, Indiana where she hunted lake impact snow off Lake Michigan and windchills that dipped 40-below zero in the winter followed by heatwaves and tornado outbreaks in the summer.
Initially from southern New Jersey, Jackie enrolled at Penn State University where she majored in meteorology and recently acquired her CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) designation from the American Meteorological Society (AMS).
Jackie credits the Blizzard of ’96 which brought more than 30′′of snow to areas of the northeast for kickstarting her welfare in the weather at girlhood. She also credits a family trip to Florida when Hurricane Charley hit in 2004. In her free time, she loves to expend time outdoors, travel, and capture a nice sunset or sunrise photo. Jackie also enjoys playing field softball and hockey, so she has a competitive side and loves watching football, baseball (especially her Nittany Lions), and hockey.
