Landon serves as a weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter at WBOC TV 16, Salisbury, Maryland. He joined the WBOC News team in June of 2021 as a News Reporter.
Hunter joins the Television world with years of experience in radio. Previously, he was a News Director and Chief Anchor for Adams Radio Group in Salisbury, including OC104 and 93.5 The Beach. While there, he spearheaded every day and broke news coverage. Before that, he served as a Reporter and Anchor for 92.7 WGMD, the News/Talk station in Rehoboth.
Hunter has known he was passionate about journalism and broadcasting from a young age. While other children his age were watching cartoons, 8-year-old Hunter was watching WBOC’s local news. At age 10, he was anchoring his homemade newscasts from his childhood bedroom.
At just 12 years of age, Hunter visited the WBOC NewsPlex and encountered his then-idol, now-colleague Steve Hammond. He has worn countless hats at WBOC, acting as a Mid-Shore reporter, then as our morning reporter, and then as a weekend morning anchor. He also likes filling in as needed whether it be as a producer or anchor.
Hunter is the proud beneficiary of six Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association Awards, including two straight wins for Best Reporter. He is a Delmarva native, born in Easton and brought up just outside of Cambridge. He enrolled at Salisbury University and Chesapeake College.
When he’s not holding people accountable for his story of the day, Hunter enjoys relaxing with family and friends and visiting every facet of the Delmarva Peninsula.
