Previously, Frank spent 9 years operating every shift at KOCO-TV, the ABC station in the heart of Tornado Alley. His most notable weather event in Oklahoma was May 8th & 9th, 2003 when tornadoes hit Oklahoma City on back-to-back days. The first tornado was an EF4 and struck the south side of town. The second tornado was an EF3 that came at night, hopped over Frank’s neighborhood, and then touched back down 1/4 mile south of KOCO-TV, where he and the rest of the team stayed on air the entire time.
Prior to working in Oklahoma, Frank served as a meteorologist and tornado chaser at KVII-TV in Amarillo, Texas. He caught and chased several tornadoes via the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. In 1997, Frank served along the Texas Gulf Coast and was at KBMT-TV in Beaumont when Hurricane Danny formed offshore and shifted toward Louisiana. Frank tracked the hurricane to Grand Isle, Louisiana where he endured a storm surge and 90 mph winds that swamped the island.
Frank commenced his TV profession at KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado, and operated for several years on the hurricane and snow warning teams at AccuWeather, a private weather firm. He obtained his degree in meteorology from Penn State University.
