While in Kansas, Ed honed his foretelling skills by covering blizzards, heat waves, and severe weather outbreaks. He was tasked with leading storm-tracking operations for KTKA, which involved organizing and navigating a few chase teams in Northeast Kansas. From there, Ed headed to Augusta, GA to work at WJBF. While there, he reported on the historic rains and the historic 2014 Georgia/South Carolina Ice Storm from Hurricane Joaquin in 2015.
Ed’s most recent stint in Tampa, FL included assisting in coverage of a few major weather events, including Hurricane Michael in 2018, Hurricane Irma in 2017, and Hurricane Matthew in 2016. He is an active part of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. Ed has the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the AMS.
When not forecasting the Gulf Coast, you will catch him hiking, exploring local museums, and nature trails, and the best eateries around. Ed is also an avid bowler and you will find him coaching youth bowlers in the area and rolling in local tournaments. He is thrilled to call the Gulf Coast home.
