David Fleischer Career Background
Before venturing into his law career in 2004, Fleischer served as a criminal defense attorney. In 2018, he launched a campaign for judge of Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 5, stepping in after Margaret Harris declined to seek re-election. His campaign emphasized court reform and equal treatment for all defendants. During the Democratic primary, Fleischer secured 50% of the vote against two opponents, advancing to the general election, where he won with 55.13% of the vote, defeating Republican candidate Xavier Alfaro.
